Eating enough plant-based foods to reduce your uric acid?

Saliva Uric Acid Test Strips by Berkeley Fit are designed to help us avoid foods that elevate uric acid, including those rich in purines and HFCS (high fructose corn syrup).  These foods are also known to contribute to weight gain and long-term cardiovascular problems, including abdominal obesity and hypertension that puts us at risk for heart disease and diabetes.

As a first-line of defense, these challenges can often be managed with dietary and lifestyle intervention.  An easy-to-use, 10-second saliva test by Berkeley Fit can provide real time feedback about foods that may be contributing to elevated uric acid.

Berkeley Fit Uric Acid saliva test strips are not intended to diagnose disease, but to serve as a simple reminder to maintain a diet rich in plant-based foods, such as the DASH diet, and to rehydrate with uric acid neutralizing foods and liquids.  Lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, celery juice, dark cherries and dark cherry concentrate are considered effective natural remedies to reduce elevated uric acid.

In future newsletter, we will explore what natural ingredients, whole foods, and supplements that claim to clear elevated uric acid.
